First of all, I want to thank you for retrieving my data. Despite the critical state of the hard drive you managed to recover 400 GB of files in more than decent time. Special mention to the people of the reception who have always been very kind and have advised me extremely well. I’ll recommend you around, thank you again.
Pierre-André Laville
Really great company! A lot of availability to answer the various questions and in addition, I was able to recover all the birth photos of my little one erased by mistake… I recommend it!

“A million thanks to the @chronodisk_fr crew for saving more than 60 000 tracks for me. This is 6 years of music!!! I would have been gutted to lose all that- You guys are wizards, and deserve a super huge MERCIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII #chronodisk #thankyou #savingData #bestintheworld
Laurent Garnier
Nothing to complain about, very professional over the entire duration of the recovery of my data and the prices correspond to those of the market if I had to give a negative point that would be the delays that sometimes can be misunderstood. In my case I had no problems at this point with Chronodisk data recovery on the hard drive.

Our advice not to worsen
the loss of data
Stay optimistic and above all don’t do anything
Hardware failure
Turn off the media immediately, especially if you’re listening to abnormal noises.
Do not force the disk with tools that do not handle bad sectors; this could lead to trays scratches.
Do not open the disk outside a clean room. This will leave traces and the laboratories charge extra for cleaning the trays
Pack your hard drive well when shipping
Non-material failures
You no longer have access to your data.
Above all do not write anything on the disk: do not install any software or worse copy the data on the disk that suffered the loss.
If you need to work on the computer make a clone on an identical disk and then work on an external rack.
Water and fire disasters
Cleaning is delicate! Do not dry the discs.
For submerged hard disks: the best is to leave them in the water to avoid corrosion, the ideal is to put them in an airtight plastic container, in distilled water.
Stay zen, we have already received dozens
Frequently asked question
Why do you lose data on a SSD disk ?
Unlike magnetic hard drives, SSD models are stronger. Stored data is stored from so-called flash memory. As a result, the risk of loss of the latter due to a mechanical failure is almost non-existent.
Even if your support falls or is shocked, your files remain intact. Loss on this type of device occurs when data and Flash memory are damaged. The most common failures are generally in the order of:
- Virus attack: SSD devices are not immune to viruses. When malware enters the disk, it attaches to the documents and infects it. If you do not install an antivirus, malware programs corrupt the system and make your information inaccessible and unreadable. In this case, you may need to clear the memory to have a formatted system.
- The operating system crashed: the support operating system crashes usually because of a software malfunction.
- The support is fried: the cause? Surges!
- Voluntary or unintentional formatting: the SSD device can be formatted because it is infected with viruses, because its system is not recognized or when you install a new operating system. In any case, it erases the information in the drive.
- Electronic compounds are failing
- Printed circuit boards are damaged
- Connectors are damaged
- The controller chip is down
- The disk is not recognized
What to do in case of data loss in a SSD media ?
The SSD device is used by both professionals and individuals. When stored files are lost, it is important to perform a data recovery. How ? Software recovery can be enuf to find deleted documents. However, this method does not solve the problem.
It may happen that the system offers you to do a formatting. We recommend you to not accept this proposal,so as not to reduce the chances of recovering your documents.
When it’s the case , SSD data recovery professionals must be used. At Chronodisk, we have the expertise and competence to help with your support. We begin by making a diagnosis, and then we proceed to reconstruct the logical diagram of the device.
In our lab assigned to the task, we unsheath each element of the device in order to assess the extent of the damage. Only in this way can we reconstruct the logic diagram between the different chips in your equipment.
At Chronodisk we take in charge all the failure on every interfaces : SAS, SATA, MSATA, NVME and M.2.
The procedure of data recovery is easy. We invite you to contact us when you detect an anomaly on your device. Unlike magnetic hard drives, the SSD does not make noise when it is down. It is silent and you detect a failure when you realize that it is fried when it is unreadable through the read port.
Once you have contacted us, we conduct a thorough evaluation of your device. This is free and then comes with a quote. When you validate it, we proceed to the recovery of SSD data.
The recovered files can be transferred on another disk or by high-speed download.
How to reduce the risk of permanent data loss ?
The first reaction of people in case of failure of their disk is to try to repair it themselves. While the initiative is laudable, it is not necessarily the right solution. By trying to recover the information, you can increase the failure and further damage your support.
La meilleure solution dans ce cas, c’est d’éteindre votre appareil et d’arrêter de l’utiliser. Cela va vous permettre de limiter les dégâts et augmenter le taux de réussite de la récupération.
The best solution is to turn off your device and stop using it. As the device failure is not mechanical, we also recommend that you do not write anything on the disk. Do not perform any installation, and do not copy any files to your drive that has suffered loss.
