What are the different failures of a hard drive ?

Using the IT clean room to recover files improves the chances of success of the operation. Indeed, it only takes a single grain of dust or hair on the surface of the trays of your hard drive, to damage it completely, causing the total or partial loss of your data.
That’s why, the environment of the room in which we perform data recovery is particularly treated to reduce the retention of dirt.
How does the clean room data recovery work ?
The process of restoring computer files in our clean room is professional. Our technicians are dressed and use certified hardware that allows them to safely handle your hard drive. When they open your storage device, they examine all of its internal elements (trays, electronic card, read heads) to determine the nature of the failure.
Once they have found the origin of the failure, they can apply the proper techniques. If needed, they can replace an important part of the hard drive in order to rescue the data to be restored.
What type of failures are supported in the clean room ?

Logical failures
They are less severe, and are generally recognized by the inability to access your data. Most of the time they are caused by:

Electronic failures
Your hard drive may also be damaged due to an electronic failure. As a result, it no longer works, and no longer responds. This is usually caused by lightning, or corruption of the storage software. A visit to our IT cleanroom will allow us to solve the problem and proceed to the data recovery.
How to facilitate data recovery ?
Before entering on our clean room you must take certain measures when you detect a malfunction on your storage media:
- First of all, you should always take time to backup your data on several media. This will allow you to access it in case of main server failure.
- Then if you notice a failure, we recommend you to shut it down.
- Do not try to plug it in, or restore the files yourself, at the risk of completely damaging them, and making extraction impossible.
