They gave their opinions

First of all, I want to thank you for retrieving my data. Despite the critical state of the hard drive you managed to recover 400 GB of files in more than decent time. Special mention to the people of the reception who have always been very kind and have advised me extremely well. I’ll recommend you around, thank you again.

Pierre-André Laville

Really great company! A lot of availability to answer the various questions and in addition, I was able to recover all the birth photos of my little one erased by mistake… I recommend it!

Stéphanie Desmares

“A million thanks to the @chronodisk_fr crew for saving more than 60 000 tracks for me. This is 6 years of music!!! I would have been gutted to lose all that- You guys are wizards, and deserve a super huge MERCIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII #chronodisk #thankyou #savingData #bestintheworld

Laurent Garnier

Nothing to complain about, very professional over the entire duration of the recovery of my data and the prices correspond to those of the market if I had to give a negative point that would be the delays that sometimes can be misunderstood. In my case I had no problems at this point with Chronodisk data recovery on the hard drive.

Our advice not to worsen
the loss of data

Stay optimistic and above all don’t do anything

Hardware failure

Turn off the media  immediately, especially if you’re listening to abnormal noises.

Do not force the disk with tools that do not handle bad sectors; this could lead to trays scratches.

Do not open the disk outside a clean room. This will leave traces and the laboratories charge extra for cleaning the trays

Pack your hard drive well when shipping

Non-material failures

You no longer have access to your data.

Above all do not write anything on the disk: do not install any software or worse copy the data on the disk that suffered the loss.

If you need to work on the computer make a clone on an identical disk and then work on an external rack.

Water and fire disasters

Cleaning is delicate! Do not dry the discs.

For submerged hard disks: the best is to leave them in the water to avoid corrosion, the ideal is to put them in an airtight plastic container, in distilled water.

Stay zen, we have already received dozens

Known as Network Attached Storage, the NAS server is an excellent system used to store files on a central volume, and then share them between network users. Easy to manage, it is reliable and offers excellent performance. However, this does not prevent it from falling down. There are always handling errors and failure risks that can lead to loss of important information. Because we know that such a situation can happen at any time, and that it can be harmful for you and your company, we offer our NAS server data recovery services at Chronodisk !

Causes of data loss in a NAS server

Generally, servers are used by companies to centralize a significant amount of data that is essential to their business. Losing them can cripple an entire industry, limit the operation of the company and even lead to numerous financial losses.

Several causes can be the cause of a failure and lead to loss of important files. Storage devices that are used in this type of system are generally subject to the same problems as hard drives, namely:

  • Disk failures due to partition or formatting
  • RAID configuration errors
  • File system alterations
  • Volumes corrupted, deleted or damaged due to human error or viruses
  • Power failures or motherboard issues
  • Disasters (floods, fires, lightning)
  • Accidental rewriting of files
  • Adding RAID incompatible hard drives
  • Etc.

In short, the recovery of NAS server data takes into account the same types of failures encountered on physical storage media, namely:

  • Logical failure
  • Mechanical failure
  • Electrical failure

Our technicians  are competent, experienced and they use innovative techniques to quickly recover your lost information. For this, we have provided them with an ISO-certified laboratory that has innovative tools to provide appropriate and adapted solutions.

Our NAS server data recovery services are customized and support all system categories (rackable or tower, 2 to 48 bays) and any type of interface:

  • USB 3.0
  • eSATA
  • iSCSI
  • Gigabit Ethernet
  • Fiber Channel 8 Gb/s
  • Thunderbolt 2
  • Firewire 400/800
  • 10 Gigabit Ethernet

The procedure to recover your lost information from Chronodisk is very simple. We invite you to contact us first, When you notice a failure on your system. We have a customer service available 6/7d and a crisis cell available every day and at any time, for emergency situations.

Once we have your storage media in our possession, we first conduct a free scan of your storage media to determine the cause of the failure. Although the loss is not permanent, we are assessing the conditions of loss to determine the best NAS server data recovery approach to take.

Depending on the type of failure and your needs, our technicians can intervene :

  • In our laboratory: most of the time, the intervention in our clean room is the most recommended. It has all the tools we need to troubleshoot, analyze and recover your inaccessible information.
  • On site : we can also go to the crash site to perform the data recovery procedure on the NAS server.

Our Chronodisk advice

NAS malfunctions can be fixed and lost information can be found, provided that the correct actions are taken. In case of anomalies, we recommend that you :

  • Avoid working in the system when you detect a problem
  • Avoid resetting devices or system hard drive
  • Avoid any system reconfiguration
  • Do not format the failed RAID
  • Do not reset the failed system
  • Do not install a new hard drive following a failure

By keeping all devices and storage media intact, you reduce the risk of permanent loss and optimize the data recovery process on your NAS server.
